JOHNNY MAC THUNDER BASEBALL
The Johnny Mac Thunder program was founded in 1965. Johnny Mac is one of the founding organizations of SLABA in 1987. The program has been one of the most successful in summer select baseball in the St. Louis area since 1970. It’s 18U has qualified and participated in two World Series tournaments via SLABA affiliations. The 17U teams have made ten World Series appearances. Johnny Mac’s 14U’s, 15U’s and 16U’s have also been highly successful in state, regional and World Series play. All teams travel to the most competitive summer tournaments, which include appearances in: Carson City, NV; Rapid City, SD; Minnetonka, MN; Niagara Falls, Canada; Wheeling, WV; Ft. Wayne, IN; Cincinnati, OH; Louisville, KY; Cocoa, FL; Deland, FL; Orlando, FL; Omaha, NE; and many more locations. Team colors are scarlet, royal and white. Home games are played at Mehlville High School and Affton Athletic Association. Base schools are Mehlville and Oakville. Players that attend private schools and those in open school districts of Affton, Bayless, Hancock, Lindbergh, and any student living in the city of St. Louis south of
I-64/Hwy 40 are also eligible.
Tryouts for the 18U and 16U Johnny Mac Thunder teams will be held on Sunday, April 11 at 1:30pm at Mehlville High School. For more information, vist www.JMthunder.com.
