Voit played for the Redbirds from 2006-2009

Former St. Louis Redbirds SLABA player and St. Louis native made his Major League debut in St. Louis on Sunday, June 25, as the Pirates and Cardinals dueled on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN.

He notched his first MLB hit - a double - against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday, June 26.

Voit is the 9th SLABA  product to reach the majors since 2004.

In 70 games with Memphis, the 26-year-old had 12 home runs and notched 48 RBI with a .322 batting average and a .561 slugging percentage.

Thursday will mark the one-year anniversary of Voit winning the Texas League Home Run Derby at Hammons Field as a Springfield Cardinal.

As a catcher in 2012, Voit helped the Bears reach their first NCAA Tournament since the 2003 College World Series. The following year, the Cardinals took him in the 22nd round of the MLB Draft.

Voit was a catcher for the St. Louis Redbirds and Lafayette High School.
